How to Choose School Spirit Merchandise

Start With Your Audience
Consider who will use or purchase the merchandise. Students, families, staff, alumni, and younger children may have different preferences, so choose products that reflect the people you want to reach.

Define the Purpose
Decide whether your merchandise is intended for everyday school pride, an upcoming event, athletics, fundraising, recognition, or a school store. A clear purpose makes it easier to select the right products.

Choose Useful Products
The best spirit merchandise is something people will genuinely want to wear, carry, or use. Focus on practical, appealing items that fit naturally into students’ and families’ daily lives.

Make the Design Distinctive
Go beyond simply placing a logo on a product. School colors, mascots, traditions, slogans, and custom artwork can make your merchandise feel more personal and exciting.

Offer a Good Mix
Combine affordable items like stickers and buttons with higher-value products such as apparel, bags, and drinkware. A varied selection gives more people a way to participate.

Plan for Timing
Allow enough time for design, approvals, production, and delivery—especially for homecoming, orientation, tournaments, and other fixed dates. Planning early also gives you more product and customization options.
