Artwork Requirements

Artwork Tips:

  • Use vector artwork whenever possible (.ai, .eps, .pdf)
  • Raster images should be at least 300 dpi at full size
  • Artwork should be in correct colors and layered
  • Fonts and lines MUST be outlined
  • Minimum Font Size in 8 pt, all lines must be at least 1 pt
  • Use solid colors for spot printing

Artwork Submission

Lightsource accepts production-ready artwork via email, FTP site, or cloud storage link to orders@lightsourcepromo.com. Artwork should not need any additional touch-up, design, color separation, or rearranging for imprint. Submitting incorrect artwork may result in delays or poor-quality printing. Lightsource cannot accept responsibility for incorrect artwork. 

Artwork Formatting

  • Vector Artwork – Accepted file types: .ai, .eps, .pdf

Vector art is the preferred format for printing. It will result in a high quality imprint regardless of the product size. When submitting vector art, be sure to outline all fonts or lines. Otherwise these may be lost during the printing process.

  • Raster Images – Accepted file types: .tiff, .jpeg, .psd, .pdf.

All raster image files must be high resolution, which is at least 300 dots per inch (DPI) at 100% of final size. It is the Buyer’s responsibility to ensure artwork is the appropriate size and resolution.

  • Fonts and Lines

Minimum font size is 8 pt at 100% of actual size. This is approximately 1/8 of an inch. Lines may not be smaller than 1 pt. When submitting vector art, be sure to outline all fonts and/or lines. 

Imprint Color Matching

For some products, spot color imprints (pad printing, screen printing, etc.) can be color matched to a coated Pantone color free of charge. Other products may only have standard color ink choices available.

Lightsource will use its best professional efforts to match colors with the original artwork. Some color variation may occur and is still considered to be commercially acceptable.

Licensed Artwork

By sending artwork to Lightsource for printing, you are warranting that you are authorized to print this artwork on behalf of the license owner. Lightsource reserves the right to request proof of your authorization from the owner of the artwork in writing. 

Art Charges

The first paper proof is included in the price of the order.

Art creation, clean up, or rebuilding is billed at $50/hr. Minimum charge is for one quarter hour or $12.50.
